I have been an apologist for the three Narnia films we have. I love them! I know they are not close to the sublime beauty of the books, but if you consider that they came out of Hollywood and could have been all "Disnified" then I feel very lucky to have them.

That being said I REALLY enjoy the posts on this site by people like "Non-Negotiable Comment" (even if I don't always believe that his posts accurately reflect his name!). I learn from and appreciate thoughtful viewpoints – even if they don't fully convince me.

We honor the spirit of Narnia (and what THAT represents) not only when we agree, but perhaps even more so by how we respectfully (and dare I say lovingly?) disagree.

Thank you to all those who post here. We waited a long time for this movie. We may not get another. But I certainly hope we do – not leastwise because of the enjoyable online community found here at Narniaweb!

    Absolutely, Moviecynic!

Your Pathetic GP saying the movie is Anti-Lewis! such a shame coming from you, I know we all have the right for our own opinions but there's a large BUT, especially when you are a persona in this website, you must be careful saying things, I look up to you and your negative comments affects me same as to those fans here in the site so do the equation man! THUMBS DOWN for GP!

I recommend reading the whole article =)

  9. Alambil says:

Also, please note (in the previously cited article from Narnia Fans) the addition of a "Seasick Gag Reel"… potential bloopers? =)

I recommend reading this article (read the whole thing!) from NarniaFans:

    http://www.narniafans.com/archives/11312

Did you notice something about a "Seasick Gag Reel"? =)

  12. Alambil says:

I really recommend reading this article:

    http://www.narniafans.com/archives/11312

And notice one of Paul Martin's comments: "There is a commentary, but my source didn’t have details on who took part aside from the director."

  13. the other Pevensie girl says:

Haha no problem! I was so relieved when I saw it, I had to share. (:

  14. DancingInRain says:

    Happy Birthday Will Poulter!Β‘!Β‘!

  15. Not Of This World says:

Liam Neesion was in the last episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and he has the coolest voice. They could not have found a better Aslan.

  16. @Alambil I think seasick gag reel is the part where Lucy puts a drop from Cordial into Eustace's soup to cure his seasickness.

  17. Kiyoha says:

naa, only 5 minutes? Well, that's better than nothing. And.

    "Eustace II"

    Want much?

    "Mutiny"

    What.

I'm really excited about this DVD. I do hope they include actors' commentaries as well!

I have a link right hear to the episode guide if anyone wants to see it:

  19. Narnia_Girl says:

listening to the audio commentaries for LWW and PC it seems director Andrew Adamson had some really great creative ideas for making the movies more emotional and generally better than what i expected from the books. I think although VDT was great, it coulld have been better had andrew adamson directed the film.

  20. Narnia_Girl says:

    just my opinion though

  21. Alambil says:

@Swordebrithil12- that explains the "seasickness" part, but what about the "gag reel"? I suppose if the cordial made Eustace gag…. lol. I think it more likely that the "gag reel" refers to some sort of blooper-type feature, whatever it may be.

  22. Stop bickering like Edmund and Eustace everyone!!! GP is entitled to their opinion just like everyone else. I thought the movie was great, although there were some un-needed cheesey lines and it was fast, the story's theme was still clear.
Everyone has their own right. If you liked it and they didn't WHO CARES!!! You can still like it even if others weren't as impressed.

  23. ChristProclamer says:

Er…yeah, I'm pretty negative about this right now.

But I'm glad I'm not the only one who found this film just fantastic (aside from GP, of course). People have raved about it…and I'm not sure why.

  24. always narnian says:

First of all I think everyone should not be bashing GlumPuddle in that way. Also, it's geeting really hateful. We should be able to discuss without being rude. Everyone else can state their opinion. If people can like it, then some can dislike it. I dislike it BECAUSE it did not follow the book. The whole plot was changed. Really, think about it. Instead of the quest for the seven lords, it became the quest for the seven swords. By the time they got to Lord Rhoop, they didn't even CARE about him, they just say, "Look his sword!"
I don't understand….The reason WHY we want the movie to be good and follow the book is because we LOVED the way LEWIS made it and LOVED that story. We didn't want the movie to be this way. That's why we have to "complain" and "analyze" it.

  25. always narnian says:

    I hope there are bloopers!

  26. always narnian says:

My dad noticed that too, about "Aslan's country being made for noble hearts". Also, my sister noticed that Reepicheep said to Lucy (about Aslan's country) "I hope I will one day earn my right to see it" (or something on that line). They keep trying to put in the movie that you earn Salvation, not that you recieve it by grace. Also, to me, the message of the movie (defeating the darkness inside of you, resisting temptation) was all about YOU IN AND OF YOURSELF conquering sin, and not JESUS doing it. We can't do anything on our own!!!

  27. Peter's BFF says:

Hey guys, I was happy that they were even any bonus stuff at all! Be thankful for what you will be getting because you could have not had anything because of the new director. I, in fact, will be waiting and watching the stores very closely for anything with bonus material.

  28. Peter's BFF says:

    AND B.B. HELLO!!!!!!!!!!

  29. reepicheep's_fangirl says:

*GASPING* you mean to tell me that the 28th was Will's birthday and i….MISSED it??!?!?!?! how COULD i?!?! i have been disgraced for life. πŸ™
and just b/c it makes me feel better:
I'm sorry I missed your birthday Will! You are the best! We could've never had a better Eustace, EVER. We love you!!!

  30. reepicheep's_fangirl says:

heeheeehee, i LOVE the Clone Wars! more than my 8-year-old little brother! i know, it's so pathetic, but it just rocks! πŸ˜€

  31. reepicheep's_fangirl says:

    and mine. πŸ˜‰

  32. Not Of This World says:

My little brother and sister and I wake up at 5 am in the mornings after the clone wars and watch it because we record it on our DVR. My favorite episode is the one when Yoda and a couple clones fight the droids Ventress set up. What's your favorite episode?

  33. Mine as well. I want Adamson back. He's perfect for Narnia. It's just not Apted's cup of tea.

  34. Ah I missed it too. Happy birthday Will. You brought Eustace to life.

  35. Oh woops sorry that was supposed to be a reply to a comment above. It gets confusing on my windows phone. >:-(

  36. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

yes, we need Bin Bons too! (i watched Dorian Grey last night and got an eyeful of caspian-yikes! )

  37. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

even more than the quest for the lords/swords, the most important theme is the longing in one's soul for aslan's country. the whole bit about the lords is just an excuse to get them out there. That is the part they really needed to develop, and to spend time on-(and more time on the undragoning too.) That's what would have made this a classic on a par with the wizard of oz if they had gone for it. instead they chickened out and went for the cheap thrill- the sea serpent fight as the main climax.. Tis a pity and a real shame. now they just have a common shoot em up fantasy you could see anywhere, as opposed to cs lewis' soul stirring classic. WALDEN, STOP SHOOTING YOURSELF IN THE FOOT AND BE BRAVE-KEEP THE MEANING!

  38. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

@always narnian, they probably added that stuff for the non christians in the audience, cause they might not know about the grace thing and it wouldn't make sense too much for them -just my guess-

  39. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

perhaps GP holds VDT so dear to his heart that he holds the storyline to a higher standard than apparently the scriptwriters do. i feel his frustration. he wants VDT to be respected as a property, not cheapened to make a bigger buck.

  40. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

im sure the people who raved haven't read the book and therefore don't know how deep the book is, and the squandered opportunities for the film version.

  41. always narnian says:

O yeah, the allegory and the meaning is what I want them to keep the most. The failed, though. The undragoning was poorly done.

  42. Narniapinoy says:

Queen Elizabeth: Like I say GP is not an ordinary commentator/user in this site so we MIND his comments. Anyone will be affected when GP says anything.

High Queene Shelly Belly: Cheapened to make a bigger buck? Well dear I have a news for you, You LIKE it or NOT all movies esp. big budget movies made to make bigger buck. slap it in your face.

  43. Narniapinoy says:

High Queene Shelly Belly: And I Quote "im sure the people who raved haven’t read the book and therefore don’t know how deep the book is, and the squandered opportunities for the film version." REALLY what an arrogant way to explain it.

  44. freya says:

Watched the movie twice yesterday on my laptop, was lucky enough to find a website that streams it online. I've watched it in the theater too, but found the wait for the dvd too looong. Will of course still buy the dvd, quality is much better and then there is the bonus material to look forward to.
I don't think the deleted scenes on "Prince Caspian" were particularly longer, because some of them were really short. I noticed that all the scenes they cut were scenes where the characters actually interacted with each other, because A. Adamson didn't find them necessary and just wanted to get on with the action, as was his excuse for cutting most of them. He likes his action scenes that one, I happen to disagree with him heartily on that aspect. He made a huge error cutting the "picking of the marshals" scene. The movie needed that scene, if only for the fact that it showed Peter and Caspian getting along, like they did in the book.
Noticed that the movie has made over $372 mill now, and with the Japan release later this month, it should hit $400. I think that's pretty good considering that the whole movie industry seems to be in a funk these days. Not much happiness found on BoxOffice I'll tell you.

  45. I wish I had a blue ray gagit…gizmo, whatchamacallit. πŸ™‚

  46. reepicheep's_fangirl says:

    lol! πŸ™‚
i like "The Academy", it's the one where Asoka trains the Cadets and then they discover a corrupt leader dude! i haven't seen the Clone Wars in forever, though. i always forget the times it comes on. i saw an ad for a new episode where Asoka supposedly might turn over to the dark side. i almost cried.
    πŸ˜€

  47. reepicheep's_fangirl says:

well, you know, i think Will gets the point. πŸ˜‰

  48. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

@narniapinoy: no poop, genius. and as you said earlier, you must be careful saying things. it's pretty hypocritical to then say something as aggressive as "slap it in your face".

  49. High Queene Shelly Belly says:

looks like somebody needs a personality transplant.

  50. Peter's BFF says:

I meant Ben Barnes as King Caspian. Not Ben Barnes as Dorian Gray. I have vowed never ever ever to see that movie!

  51. Peter's BFF says:

I didn't go to any other movie while Dawn Treader was playing so that none of my money would go on that side. Unfortunately it seems right now like Silver Chair won't happen. I know that sounds horrible, and anti-Narnian, but I don't want to be killed inwardly if what I just typed is true.

  52. Peter's BFF says:

    ditto

  53. Peter's BFF says:

Or even they used all the scenes in the movie. (except of course the bits they shaved off bigger scenes)

  54. Peter's BFF says:

Great more stuff. Bummer I don't have a blue-ray player. So much for that idea. πŸ™

  55. Peter's BFF says:

Me too. Why can't they put everything on all of the different discs? Oh right, so that we buy the player. Obviously I need to calm down. πŸ˜‰

  56. Narnia_Girl says:

I'm glad someone else agrees πŸ™‚ i just hope he is up for the next movie (if they make one, which i hope they do <3 )
