Well that is awesome news, it's looking brighter and brighter for MN/SC/LB/HHB… but that article is really reminding me of the whole 'perry moore' story, I mean Japan is in "ongoing tragic conditions," but it's great that the Film industry is still doing great overseas despite the "ordeal." People do we know what's really important anymore? and I'm adding myself in that question.

Excellent thoughts – what seems important versus what should be important in this digital/entertainment age. When I said VDT may not reach $400M worldwide because of the Japan disaster, one person on Facebook balked at me. So in humble repentance, I wrote this story. I actually started it before the news broke of VDT reaching the milestone. People, not entertainment, is what matters. But God cares about the entertainment world too. We can't forget that. We can't put God in a box. He sees it all – and knows and cares. Let's all pray for the people of Japan – for their physical and spiritual health/recovery. http://www.aslanscountry.com/2011/03/in-wake-of-japan-disaster-dawn-treader-reaches-400-million-worldwide/

It actually did surprisingly well in Japan considering the devastating earthquake, although not all areas were affected by damage, but power outages. Now it will probably get less money than Prince Caspian in Japan, but it's really the people that matter more right now, and I'm sure Walden/Fox most certainly understand that.

  14. SirCC says:

This just makes it weirder that they'd do MN next, considering how well VDT has now done…people are just going to be confused by the change of characters. But still, this is Great News.

  15. Arvan says:

It's about time! I wasn't sure it would make it this far! Looking better for the next film. Now, if they'd come to they're senses and do SC!

This is excellent news! Now, to wait for any announcements about Magician's Nephew, although Silver Chair would be better as the next one….

I may like Narnia a lot, and want the movie to do well at the box-office, but when I see the destruction and tragedies in Japan, I realize that Narnia is just a drop in the ocean of things that matter. Right now I would be happy if all the money that might have gone to the movie was put into rescue and relief efforts. You can't put a price on human life.

(At the same time, I'm thrilled that VDT has surpassed $400 million. It's great news–just not as important when you consider the suffering people in Japan)

  23. 4oo million and lot of critics said it would be a flop.

  24. ajSilverX Farsight says:

Now that "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" surpasses $400 million worldwide, the production team must start planning to make the next Narnia film. Despite all it's negative critics, "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" still proves that they can make a great worldwide gross. Then they must make "The Silver Chair" next for it follows the story of "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and Will Poulter will be way too old if they make "The Magician's Nephew" next. But if they make "The Magician's Nephew" next, they must show the full story of Narnia's creation. It depends to the production team if what movie will be next and if it's going to be a greenlight film. They must make the fourth installment of Narnia movie for it is a very great story and shows moral conduct.

    Great news!

  27. stephen says:

That's strange. Because when I checked Box Office Mojo a few minutes ago the worldwide gross for VDT was $397 million, but I hope this report is the one that's right. And to the people who were talking about Japan's earthquake and flood disater, your right it is a great tragedy, and we really should be praying to God for the people of Japan suffering. We get so caught up in the digital/entertainment world that we forget about the things that are truly important. I myself am guilty of this.

  28. Fireflower says:

YEEEAAAAAHHHHA! Keep on going VDT!!! For Aslan!!!!

  29. Kelly says:

That's awesome, of course, but Japan have bigger things to worry about right now, so let's pray for those people.

  30. Pepper Darcy says:

thanks, but there I was quoting Adam Young (i.e. Owl City) ๐Ÿ™‚ I follow his Facebook and he said that and it cracked me up ๐Ÿ™‚ Just spreading the love ๐Ÿ˜€

BTW, *MONTHS* ago, I saw a bet between two friends how one bet Dawn Treader wouldn't make more than 400 million, and the other thought it *would*… looks like the second kid won ๐Ÿ˜€ Wish I could remember their names… ๐Ÿ™‚

I almost want to say, "Duuuuuuhhhhh!" In Fox's and Walden's face about doing SC next.

  39. Hiking Peter says:

Easily both. I think they should do SC next…But Magician would make such a great movie. Tilda Swinton would probably vote for the Magician. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  40. Hiking Peter says:

    DITTO.

  41. Hiking Peter says:

I absolutely agree with you. My prayers go out to those in Japan and others who were affected by the earthquake and tsunami. I do care about what happens to Narnia but people are much more important. Also like you said, God cares about everything, people and entertainment. So lets try to please Him in both aspects.
