NarniaWebber ‘LucyP0104’ has just sent us a snapshot of the first The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader Movie Poster. The tagline reads: “Return to MAGIC, Return to HOPE, Return to NARNIA.” Notice the reflection of the Dawn Treader in Aslan’s eye.

Thanks LucyP0104! This photo was snapped at a Regal theater in Pennsylvania, if anyone has a similar shot, please send it in!

I think the 'hope' thing could be cool, if handled in the correct way. I'm hoping it symbolizes something new – as in, a return to the magical, hope-filled land that we saw in LWW but not so much in PC. (Like HermitessofNarnia said, it could be saying that this movie won't be as depressing, and that's why I like it.) I think it's the filmmaker's way of subtly saying, "Hey, we're trying to do this right."

I love the tagline and this poster – very wise to focus on Aslan as he's the most recognisable and beloved character. Last time they had posters with just Caspian on them and people didn't know who he was. I love the ship in his eye – subtle but effective.

  3. QueenLucy12 says:

Oh that would be sooo cool!!! but we will see tomorrow!!! Hopefully πŸ˜‰

  4. edson07bs says:

Ohhhh MY GOD, it's so cool, so narnian, so amazing, so magic… I want to yeelllllll

  5. sweeeet! it looks great, I can't wait for the movie!

  6. liam neeson 4ever says:

Reepicheep is an unnecessary character to involve in the series. He's not funny, he's dirty, I'm pretty sure he practices dark magic, and if anyone owns a stuffed animal or any related product of his, they need to reevaluate their priorities. Viva la Narniaweb! πŸ˜›

  7. toldya says:

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, my friend LOL

  8. narnian resident says:

i love how you can see the Dawn Treader in Aslan's eye. that is too cool πŸ™‚

  9. RuralNarniaFan says:

Whoa, what? He's just as important as any other character C.S. Lewis put in the series! He is described as careful about his appearance, so I'm pretty sure he'd keep himself clean. And as a devoted follower of Aslan, he wouldn't practice dark magic.

Not sure where that came from. :O

  10. Aravis & Hwin says:

    I totally agree, 220ChrisTian! πŸ™‚

  11. Omac the centaur says:

why do u say that?! he's like, 1 of the main characters in the books! U don't like mice do u?

  12. FriendOfNarnia2 says:

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be a joke.

  13. Xenithar says:

3D huh? That should be interesting.

  14. Kris says:

I love it! And I like having Reep on it. It kind of lets us know that he has a more important role in this film and people who liked him in the last film but may not be so hard core as to come to websites like this, may be happy to see that he will be in the next one. And I like having him with Aslan. Its just a neat concept to me. And the DT in his eye is pretty awesome too!

  15. liam neeson 4ever says:

It's funny you should say that, RuralNarniaFan! Because FriendOfNarnia 2 is correct! It was a little social experiment (or test from Aslan ;)) to see if you were a true follower/believer in Narnia! Congratulations! You passed the ultimate test and you are THE NUMBER ONE NARNIAN DISCIPLE!!! πŸ™‚ I hope I'm still welcomed here…

P.S: My friend and I are splitting our sides in laughter reading the offended comments! But no hard feelings…LOL…We did this just to see what would happen.

  16. liam neeson 4ever says:

Yes I do…for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! LOL

  17. High Queene ShellyBelly says:

    i am way psyched!!

  18. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

Man, how do you know how to put down what I feel so down-pat?!? Kinda creepy but really cool. My sentiments exactly on all points!

  19. crazYNka says:

this is very cool poster! I LOVE NARNIA!!!! πŸ™‚

  20. NEAT! It is really cool looking. πŸ™‚

  21. Lucy says:

Glad you weren't serious! Insulting dear Reepicheep like that! I love Reepicheep! He rocks!

  22. Ariel_of_Narnia says:

…Wow, you really gave me a scare for a moment!

  23. MP_in_Narnia says:

AWESOMEEEE!!!! This makes me SUPER SUPER SUPER excited for the movie!!!!! If I'm this excited over a poster, who knows what I'm gonna be like when I see the trailer! LOL

  24. Katana says:

    Aha ha ha ha

  25. Katana says:

If you had been serious im pretty sure I would have had to hunt you down and kill you

  26. Katana says:

I really like this poster, It has a certain ethreal sense about it, pumps you up and make you feel excited. Seeing the ship in Aslans eye is really cool to. I love the caption though: Return to Magic, Return to Hope, Return……To NARNIA

  27. Haggith Tarkheena says:

    That. . .is. . .just. . .TOO. . .AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ :D:D πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

  28. Haggith Tarkheena says:

I seriously like the title too. Seeing the ship in Aslan's eye REALLY IS awesome.

  29. Haggith Tarkheena says:

    UGH! I TOTALLY agree. πŸ˜€

  30. Haggith Tarkheena says:

Ha ha! I love your name πŸ™‚ I absolutley love hobbits too.

  31. Haggith Tarkheena says:

I don't know what I think. I think having Reep on the Narnia logo takes a little bit of the seriousness in the movie. It probably would be better if he wasn't in the poster, and just have Aslan in it.

But oh well, I can deal with it. πŸ™‚

  32. Haggith Tarkheena says:

HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!! GOOOD one Liam Neeson 4 ever. I like that! πŸ˜€

  33. Haggith Tarkheena says:

Anyways, I really do like Reepicheep!

  34. Jeditrojan says:

Awesome! I can't wait for the movie!

  35. Sir Anton says:

I have high hopes for this Narnia Movie.
Now that there is a new director and some new perspective, perhaps this movie might follow more closely to the original source material than what the un-magical, uninspired "Prince Caspian"flick gave us.
Considering the book is full of magic, wonder, and adventure, you would think that they cannot go wrong. But of course, Prince Caspian's failure to deliver this shows that it is very possible.
If you think my comments are hard to believe, consider the fact that Prince Caspian made MUCH LESS than LWW in box office returns. Families coming back and expecting to see another great family epic full of inspiring magic and adventure were definitely surprised by the more gritty, adult themed, less than devoted to Lewis story result.
I think if the movie is inspired truly to the original story, then perhaps there is a chance at winning back the families interests and generating huge returns in revenue.
    I guess one can HOPE.

  36. Aravis & Hwin says:

hahaha! I wondered the same thing :)!!!

  37. Haggith Tarkheena says:

Oh, yeah. That is a good commet Sir Anton.

  38. Lady of Narnia says:

*freaking out* This is so awesome!! Our first movie poster!! Oh yeah! Sail on VDT!

  39. narniafan96 says:

    wow… cool poster! πŸ˜€

  40. GlimGlum says:

Good analysis, Sir Anton. We are all hoping this will be the case with VDT. πŸ™‚

  41. Omac the centaur says:

haha good cuz Katana is right, about tracking u down and stuff. XD p.s. tell ur friend hey. πŸ˜›

  42. Omac the centaur says:

hm, I might try that.. but not rep. πŸ™‚

  43. Lucy says:

I sort of agree with you (I mean, the Narnia books were AWESOME so having a movie closer to the book plots would not be amiss in the least) but I liked the PC movie, even with the changes, I thought it was really good. I mean the whole Susan/Caspian thing was a little weird, but it's better than no second Narnia movie at all. And I really wish people would stop bad-mouthing PC, I'm sure andrew did his best. Anyway, i have high-hopes for this movie, too, and please don't flame me for saying this, but at the same time I hope they don't go over-board with the whole Aslan-is-jesus in our world thing because there is such a thing as over-kill. Everyone should be able to enjoy the movies; good old C.S. Lewis didn't shove anything down our throats so I don't think fox and walden should either. That's just my feelings on the matter. Sail on VDT, sail on. Can't wait to see the movie!

  44. Narnian Beauty says:

This poster looks really amazing. I love the Dawn Treader reflecting in Aslan's eye.

  45. Mirima Rosetrader says:

That's exactly how I think of it! I love the ship in Aslan's eye that looks so awesome. That poster is on my desktop and I just like to stare at it. πŸ˜€

  46. bobs says:

Poster is good but the 3-D sign looks awful for me.

  47. Tauriel says:

It's beautiful, very simple and effective. Love the reflection of the Dawn Treader in Aslan's eye (I think it might represent also the fact that he always watches over them). Good choice for a first teaser.

  48. Aravis Narnia says:

I like the message of hope. I like the magic part- shows that fantasy and Christianity are compatible. And most important, I like the focus on Aslan.

  49. SavedByGrace says:

You summed up my thoughts to a "T", 220Christian!

  50. narniahannah says:

I agree with Katana, had you been serious I would hunt you down and kill you….and I would have brought not only my sword but all of the Narnian army. πŸ˜‰ so if there's anyone who is thinking about insulting Reep-or any of the Narnian characters(the nice ones- I'd be verrrrrrryyyyyyyy careful about what you say…. πŸ˜‰ lol.

  51. narniahannah says:

AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!! POSTER!!!! YES!!! I love the dawn treader reflection in Aslan's eye. However, I hope they'll have other posters too, I don't really think this one is as exciting as the poster for LWW or even PC. Don't get me wrong, I am soooooooo EXCITED for the poster and the movie!! Does this mean there will be a trailer soon?? I'm DYING waiting for a trailer!! And the movie in general!!
sail on VDT!(and hurry up and get to "port", we wanna see you!!!) πŸ˜‰

  52. narniahannah says:

forgot to say, I love the words on the poster, this is indeed a return to hope after what happened with PC!

  53. sachin says:

BELIEVE ME GUYS THIS FILM WILL BE THE 'BEST NARNIA' FILM EVER.
    THE BEST.

WHO CARES ABOUT AVATAR AND NAVI WHEN WE HAVE OUR ASLAN OUR JESUS.

  54. Lylanarniafan says:

    TOTALLY agree.!!!

  55. Austra says:

I certainly hope they do a good job with this one, since it's one of my three favorites!!! Also, I think that "Return to the Magic" and all the rest is kinda cheesy. Just my opinion!!!

  56. liam neeson 4ever says:

Wow. This brought about more violence than I anticipated…8o

  57. u&me says:

    Don't you just love a good joke…?
