Dawn Treader on DVD and Blu-ray April 8th
Several sources, including the Official Facebook page for The Voyage of the Dawn Treader are reporting that the DVD and Blu-ray will be in stores on April 8th.
Extras on the DVD include:
– Audio Commentary by director Michael Apted and producer Mark Johnson.
– Deleted Scenes (“The Kids in Narnia…”, “Eustace II”, “Mutiny”, “Caspian’s Doubt”)
– Untold Adventures of the Dawn Treader – Animated Short.
– King Caspian’s Guide to the Dawn Treader: Legends and Lore of the great ship.
– 5 “Island Explorations” featurettes.
– 7 Narnian Discoveries: Friends and Foes of Narnia featurettes.
– 4 “Fox Movie Channel Presents” Behind the Scenes featurettes.
– A DVD game having to do with swords.
The Blu-ray will include all of the above plus:
– 3 additional Behind the Scenes featurettes including “Battle on the sea”.
– Digital Copy of the film.
NarniaWebber Griffle points out that the VFX Progression Reel featurette and the Music Video mentioned here is not listed as being part of the extras, but will still probably be there.

has ANYONE noticed that ever since Fox took this franchise, it's been sinking deeper than what we all expected? I've noticed it SOOOO MUCH…I know I hate Disney, but I'm beginning to miss them handling all this than what we know now as the distorted movie series we all watched grow into a wreck
I don't see why the DVD that comes with the BD should be any different than the one that is sold separately. Wouldn't make any sense at all and it would cost FOX extra to print two different versions.

I think this boycott idea is stupid! It's a good movie (for those of us who liked it, please let's not turn this into a debate about the movie's quailty since many of us seem to have different thoughts on that matter), and yes, it's a little sad if there's not commetary with Will, Skandar, Geogrie, and Ben, but that's not reason to boycott an entire dvd/blu-ray. But it's a horrible spoiled brat thing to do not to get it at all just cuz of that. What about all the other stuff on the dvd? You boycotters are awfully spoiled and quite silly. Honestly, fox will NOT do everything disney did, get it through your heads. We're lucky they're giving us as much as they have! I mean, look at "City of Ember", a science fiction/fantasy film based on a book series also done by fox; they gave NO EXTRA FEATURES AT ALL, and think of the sweet, though fast-paced (kind like VDT actually, LOL) movie dvd buyers would have missed if they were idiots and boycotted THAT. Don't be stupid. Just buy the freakin dvd if you like the bloody movie! I for one am not joining this moronic boycott, and I intend to buy the blu-ray combo pack (or at LEAST the dvd) no matter what. I just really loved the movie. If fox only makes one sale because of this nonsense, over one little feature you are all moping about (which yes, I'm sorry they won't have it too, but get over it, move on!), know it was MY sale, and that while you're all sitting home with no new movie to watch, I'll be enjoying Fox and Waldens Voyage of the Dawn Treader in my cozy living room, with snacks! So there!
I am glad that Fox is putting more time into the design of the DVD and Blu-Ray. It seemed like, for PC, Disney rushed the cover art and the disc was just silver. These things look so much more well thought out. Can't wait for it! 😀
I want the movie because I'm a big Narnia fan and I enjoy comparing the movies to the books. The other two movies, I bought simply because I liked them in addition to the fact that they were based on books that I love. I'm also very interested to hear what Apted will say on the commentary. And like stateofgreen said, there were good moments. Distressingly few, but they are there.

Dawn Treader did NAWT suck. That's an opinon. i think it's ghastly that if I said, "Dawn Treader was AH-MAZING" everyone would jump down my throat and say it wasn't and that's just my silly opinon but you people can say it sucked and get away with shoving your opinons around on everyone. NOT FAIR.

Snow here in Chicago is magnificent. Feels very Narnian, though too much of it looks like an attack from the White Witch. Can't wait to play in it though! 😀 And I NEED that DVD so bad I know it gets annoying saying it over and over but I'm too worked up. These two months are going to be kinda hard for me. XD
The soundtrack is unbelievably gorgeous, I simply love it.

you are absolutely right, Lucy, and i apologize, i don't know what came over me. saying it "sucked" was way too harsh. I was just annoyed to hear my theory that Apted was rather stiff compared to Adamson proved correct. sorry again. 🙂
you're right, but do you think we could tone it down just a little???? it was only a SUGGESTION to boycott it, although i wouldn't give up seeing the movie just because it doesn't have as many super cool features as the others either. 😉

haha, i have to admit, sadly, i second that. i WANTED to like the movie, i really did. But it was missing something that the other two had. of course, there were definitely parts in it that i liked, but just PARTS not, like, the ENTIRE thing. i was still very impressed with the visual effects and Will Poultler <3 <3 <3 (who wasn't??? 😉 ) , of course.

What on earth is going on with the Dawn Treader artwork on those??
On one you have the proper image of the Dawn Treader with the full sail, on another you have the badly photo-shopped version with the half-sized mast and incomplete sail, and on the third you have the horrendous un-photo shopped picture of the Dawn Treader Set which not only has a half-sized mast and an incomplete sail, but also has the Metal Scaffolding present from shooting that was built to hold the sail up!
Seriously, is there any way Fox could have put less thought and effort into this?

I am about on the edge of swearing reading your comment Anhun. I won't, but it seems that Apted is such an anti-Narnian director it was idiocy to even consider him for the job. Andrew Adamson needs to come back Apted is way too rushed and just terrible for the job.

The Norwegian release date is supposedly March 30th, so I would assume Sweden will get it roughly around the same time.

Once again: It's so incredibly embarrassing that they keep on releasing artwork for the film of the low quality we've seen. What to say…really!? I guess, from a collector's point of view, it's kind of interesting that they've used three different versions of the Dawn Treader for the three different releases of the film on DVD and BD. The one they've used for the 2-disc set has to be the worst of them though. Looks really weird with the sail like that.

personally i don't care at all what adapt has to say about the film because he was an awful director and also people only really watch the commenterys with the actor in it
umm…..im a little disturbed that they had the audacity to put that horrid picture of the Dawn Treader with the half-completed mast and all the poles sticking out on the movie cover………
The other two are really extra good, but the mis-step is for the most important one!
EWWW I hate that they actually used a picture of the DT without a complete mast. It looks really crappy and unprofessional.

Being an artsy person myself I think the photography is wonderful and seeing the boat with land in the background give it a complete look. Much better than when the boat is just floating out in the middle of no where. I'm so glad they changed from the photo of Lucy on the movie poster. Great Job 🙂 Great colors.
I'm sure they will have bloopers! You just have to have faith about these things people!!! I'm sure bloopers are one of the MANY featurettes. 🙂 This will be a great Easter gift 🙂

Actually i'm looking very forward to hearing their explanation as to why Dawn Treader was adapted the way it was. And you know it's not all Apted's fault. He wasn't involved in writing the script. He's directing what was given to him

They talked about it specifically in an interview with Skandar, although I can't remember which one. They also made an allusion to it in an interview with Will and Georgie where she mentioned that they had far fewer takes than they had with Andrew Adamson.
The Double DVD Pack looks horrible. Maybe it's just a teaser?!?! But knowing Fox, probably not.
