Rilian and Glumpuddle begin a new series on each of C.S. Lewis’ seven Narnia books. First up is The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Lewis published the book in 1950 not intending to write anymore. Fortunately for us, he was inspired and kept writing.
Rilian and Glumpuddle disagree about the Deeper Magic. What do you think?

The NarniaWeb news page is alive and well! Douglas Gresham says he wants to make The Silver Chair next, and he would like to make it independently. A seven-year moratorium prevents him from starting anytime soon. Rilan and Glumpuddle discuss the possible pros and cons of Gresham’s vision. Read the report here.

Some of you know Rilian studied at Oxford University through a study abroad programme almost four years ago. Today he interviews two fans of Lewis (including NarniaWebber LadyLiln) who talk about how studying in Oxford has been more than they ever dreamed as they discuss what it’s like literally walking the same paths as C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien. For information on the programme, go to http://www.summitoxford.org or “Like” their Facebook page. UPDATE: A new video featuring Franklin along with his CS Lewis tutor, Dr. Michael Ward, is available here on YouTube.

While Rilian and glumPuddle hope to do more discussions with the rest of the council on Narnia topics, this will be the last film news discussion for the foreseeable future. In this episode, we discuss the present status of the franchise, share laughs, frustrations, questions and a few last reflections as we conclude this episode. As an era in the podcast concludes, we on the council would like to give a warm and sincere “Thank you” to all our listeners.

After an extended news blackout, Micheal Flaherty (Walden Media president) has revealed that no script exists for a fourth Narnia film, and no agreement has been reached on which book should be adapted next. He also talks about the darkness in Prince Caspian and The Silver Chair, and Dawn Treader‘s box office. Rilian and GlumPuddle share their thoughts. Read/listen to the interview here.

The “undragonning”: It stirs the heart of every Narnia lover. How close did the film come to doing the book justice in this regard? glumPuddle and Warrior4Jesus join Rilian as they discuss the visual aspects of the undragonning, the way it fit into the story and also add a new perspective to the question of whether Eustace earns his redemption in the film.
Running time: 56 minutes
Rilian and Dr. Ransom discuss the climax of the film with the Dawn Treader’s encounter with Dark Island and the sea serpent. Leaving aside the discussion of the undragonning until the next episode, Ransom and Rilian come at this scene with passion, energy and (naturally) silliness.
Retraction: In this episode, Rilian and Ransom mistakenly assume that Lucy replies to the MLG with “I want to be just like you” when in actuality her response is closer to “I think you should be just like you.” Due to the film no longer showing in our local theatres, we depend more and more upon memories and our notes as to what was said and done, and alas, these methods are not foolproof. We apologize for the error and will be using the DVD when it comes out to refresh our memories.
